Leap Day!

For some reason holidays get me really excited! I am not talking about the major holidays that are everyone's favorite like Christmas and Thanksgiving. I love the minor holidays, if you want to call them that.

Some of my favorites include 4th of July, Easter, St. Patty's, Halloween, and Valentine's. New to the list is Leap Year, reason being is you really only get to think about it every 4 years. Wouldn't it be cool to get married or have a baby on that day? This morning a co-worker said today is your day! Go and propose to that guy! Haha, very funny, but that led me to want to watch Leap Year:) So I hope everyone enjoys their day, I know I will:)

Whoopee!

Many of you know I am an avid Pinner on Pinterest. I love that it motivates me to do things, especially cook. I am starting to get more crafty too. This year I verged from the normal Valentine's that I give to friends and made these Red Velvet Whoopee Pie's. I am trying to get completely off sugar, well at least candy, cookies, etc... That being said I cannot bake something and give it away without trying it, they were delish! They were a lot of work, but totally worth it:) The difference between Pinterest and my version was I made them smaller with a cookie press and used my own frosting.

2nd Reception

About two week's after Ryun and Katie were married we had another reception for them in Utah. I had never been to the Skyroom, but it was so nice. I would consider having a reception there. The best part of the whole evening was talking to my Mom's best friend Dana most of the time. You see, a few months ago when Ryun called Dana up for her address to mail her an invite she told us she would probably be our Mom's mission companion very soon. What? What? As in she would soon pass away from Cancer also! I HATE CANCER! So since then I have been meaning to go visit her or at least write her and never got around to it. Shame on me! So when she showed up she looked bright and cheery, not at all sick. The good news is she is good for now and doesn't have to get tested or have anymore treatments for a few months! I always love talking with her!

It was also a lot of fun to see neighbors, family friends, and family. There was a great turn out, especially from Katie's Mission Family. The food was fruit and treats catered by BYU, yum! There was even dancing and some impromptu karaoke. Congrats to the Newly Weds, who have almost been married 2 months now:)

Handsome brothers, Ryun and Glen. Just missing Brett, who was recently accepted to Dental School.

Glen and cute sissy-in-law, Kandace.

The Bride and Groom! Isn't Katie beautiful!

Dad and Grandma dancing:)

I have been so swamped with moving that I am behind, but now I can catch up! A post will come later about the move! For now here are some more cards I have made lately.
