Come what may...

I have always loved the saying by Elder Wirthlin, "Come what may and love it."  I try to remember that when things are not going how I want them to (when I should have faith in how the Lord wants them).

With that being said, I never expected to have my time cut short on earth with my Mom. I miss her everyday.  I hope she knows that if she were here today I would take her to Mimi's Cafe (her favorite) for her birthday today.  Come what may and love it.

I recently decided to switch to a family ward for a few reasons and felt like I needed to switch back to the singles ward after a few short months. Why?  As soon as my records were back in the ward they asked me to speak. Terror!  I used to love to speak/give talks, but I have recently in the last year become a lot more shy and quiet.  So for a week and a half I had anxiety over giving this talk and did not feel adequate.  I should add the last time I spoke in church was the day my Mom died.  This past Sunday I when I spoke I was hoping nobody I knew would die, but it happened exactly when I was speaking!  Come what may and love it!

A few weeks ago I started having a toothache.  I called the dentist but had to wait about 5 days to get in.  I had to get a crown (only my second, but still disappointing) because I cracked a tooth.  It took 10 shots and 1 hour later to get me numb enough to not feel pain.  After this I was good for about a day, but then I started having even more pain.  Yep, you guessed it...I got a root canal today.  Worst experience ever, even though it was quick.  I thought I was having a heart attack and I am pretty sure the endodonist had a cold so if I get infection I wouldn't be surprised! Come what may and love it, hahahahaha!

Oh and since Valentine's is this week should I add that the only person I have ever loved (romantically) is not in my life.  COME WHAT MAY AND LOVE IT!  Really life is good!  I am loving people more and accomplishing so many great goals!  I know that life is good because my Mom is watching over me, the Lord loves me, I read my scriptures and pray daily, I go to the temple twice a week (serve once and then go as a patron), and I have family that is great. I love it!!!

Roadtrip!

Last week I went with a few friends up to Brigham City just for a day trip.  We first went to the Brigham City Temple and did initiatory work.  We were able to ponder in the celestial room afterwards.

After that we were all starving so we went to a famous restaurant that I remembered going to many years ago.  It's called Maddox and they have amazing rolls, raspberry butter, and raise the meat locally.  Most of us got their fried chicken (without the skin) and one friend tried trout, which she said was great.

The last thing we did was go to Crystal Hot Springs in Honeyville, Ut.  It is about 10-15 miles north of Brigham City, but I remember going there when I was young with my Mom and brothers.  We caught crawdads out of the river that runs by the hot springs, which I was fascinated by.  I remember that being during the summer time when my Mom was living in Brigham City so everything was open and there was a lot of people.  When we went only the hot springs were open, but there was still a lot of people.  It was kind of cool to be swimming in the middle of winter when it was about 30 degrees outside, but myself and one other friend agreed that we like Lava Hot Springs better.  So if you are thinking of going to Hot Springs in the future go to Lava.  Now I just need to try Diamond Fork.  It was so fun to hang out for the day and chat with girlfriends!
