Cherie Call Concert

A lot of you know I love Cherie Call. In fact my top three favorites right now are Cherie Call, Sarah Brightman, and Michael Buble. She had a small concert this week benefiting a family whose Dad will soon die of cancer, so I felt very connected to the cause. Good thing I went too. There was less the 20 people and I felt like I was there for my own private concert as I sat upfront. I felt the spirit so strongly, got to hear some new songs, and talked with her twice. If you have not listened to her music I would highly recommend her unique style.

Timpanogos Hike

About a week ago some friends and I decided to hike Mt. Timpanogos. We got there about 6 am only to be greeted by some rangers that said the parking lot was full and that we would have to park on the Alpine Loop and walk to the trail-head. Another mile to add to the hike? The hike was great going up, the flowers were so beautiful, the views stunning, and I even dealt with my fear of heights. It was great to say I had finally made it to the shack on top. Coming down was a different story. My knees didn't like it at all, we saw a black bear, and saying we were worn out was an understatement!!! By the end we figured we had hiked about 17 miles. Well worth it, but it may be my last time because of my knees.

More Birthday

Yesterday my sweet brother and sister in law made dinner for Janet and I as we were both celebrated our birthdays late. It was delicious, especially the Peanut Butter Trifle!!! Oh, my brother Ryun also got engaged this last weekend, hence the picture of him and Katie. Janet and I are exactly 25 years apart:)

Zions

Over Labor Day weekend I went with some friends down to Zion's National Park. Since I had never been there I had so much to see!!! I got to see Emerald Pools, Weeping Rock, Court of the Patriarchs, Angel's Landing, Kolob Canyon, the tunnel, the museum, and partially hike up the Narrows. Camping in the desert was hot, but well worth the fun. It helped that we had the river right next to our campsite so we could swim and lay out. Entertainment from nature included Deer, Turkey's, Scorpions, Jerusalem Crickets, Ring tail Cat, Squirrels, attacking Bees, and lots of little fish. Next summer I want to do the entire length of the Narrows! On our last day there we discovered we were all the oldest in our families and that was probably why we were so laid back, got along, and had so much fun!

I Love Lucy!

On my birthday I was technically coming home from a funeral, so that is not fun. A few days later I decided to have an "I love Lucy" themed party. I am very grateful to the friends that came, since there were very few friends that weren't busy. This birthday has been very hard for me for several reasons, but I have survived. To make the day special I got my hair done like Lucy and told others coming to dress up too. The first picture below are parking signs I had outside. The drinks and appetizers were great. The cake was entertaining too. Bring on my 30's!!!

In Memory

Debbie Vonne Mitchell was a great Mom! Unlike most daughters I did not grow up with my Mom except going to see her every other weekend. That being said I feel that she will be with me more in spirit now that she has passed on. Still I miss her deeply, but hope she will help lead me to my spouse:) I love her for so many reasons, one of which was helping me relax a little. I am proud to call her Mom and look like her in any of my features. Love Ya! (Pictures are in order of her life to the best of my knowledge. The older the picture, the worse the quality, sorry).
